Greg was recently asked by Roger Camp and his team at Camp+King to direct a new spot for Del Taco. Roger and Greg go way back to the Cliff Freeman days. Roger calls Greg “Fatty,” which is funny, because Greg is a very skinny, fit man.
The spot highlights the fact that Del Taco now uses garden fresh, locally sourced vegetables to make the salads they serve UnFreshing Believable®. So naturally the idea was to go to a local farm and have a farmer talk about his fresh, local vegetables. There was also a small bunny in the concept, and the rabbit’s job was to act as a foil to the farmer, trying to make his life as difficult as possible so that the farmer can’t harvest all of his veggies for Del Taco’s use.
As you can see in the following photo, the bunny was out of control on the day of the shoot. Weapons appeared, and several times the farmer was nearly killed. Greg tried to talk sense into the rodent, but the situation only escalated as the day progressed. It was kind of like a scene out of a Monty Python movie, but with less blood and fewer Knights.
You can check out the spot here.
