I’ve never had that much positive adrenaline than in my first month at Backyard Productions. In the first week, I not only got the taste of a big shoot with fast driving cars, I also got to make a behind the scenes video, which I call ''A Day in The Life of a PA.” Running around with a GoPro camera stuck on the top of my head and watching a classic Mustang take on the roads of Long Beach.
Without getting too much into a boyhood car-struck joyride, my next challenge was to co-produce a feature film with an award winning Latvian director Maris Martinsons, starring a world class actress Kaori Momoi (Memoirs of a Geisha, Sukiyaki Western Django, Kagemusha). Backyard joined in as Associate Producers and also provided a warm office to hang out in the cold winter of California. We managed to shoot 8 days straight in and around Venice/Santa Monica.
Here until mid summer, you can find me working on director’s cuts and taking stills on the sets with my good old-fashioned film camera (yes, film is still alive). Backyard has become an oasis of inspiration- after this month, I got to say - keep 'em coming.
