Every year, if I'm not blasting out to New York City just before Christmas to shoot a last minute project, then something is not right in this business! I’m happy to report that the end of 2012 brought me to Gotham for a double-header with our newest director Xander™. First he directed Al Roker for an AdCouncil spot with Leo Burnett, and then he jumped right into a Gillette project with BBDO. Xander™ wrapped camera on December 23rd.
Gillette was not an ordinary ad campaign, but instead a documentary film about the state of kissing. Yes Kissing! If you are familiar with Xander's style of work, then you may understand. The short film is entitled "Are We Killing the Kiss?” It takes a serious (and not so serious) look at why men and women kiss. It was posted on YouTube yesterday, and it already has hundreds of thousands of hits :
(Next week, Xander™ is off to Sundance with the star of the film to do some press and screenings. More on the AdCouncil spot when it airs in February.)
I love New York!
