Director

David Tindale

David is a conceptual brand storyteller with a background as an in-house creative director and feature filmmaker.

With extensive experience as an in-house creative director on the agency and brand sides, David brings a unique sensitivity to creating content that is distinctly authentic to the brand message. Honing in on the tone of a brand, David’s reel ranges from dynamic action sports spots, to real people storytelling pieces, to character driven comedy that are all distinctive because of their conceptual honesty.

Tindale’s migration into directing was an organic one. After kicking off his career on the marketing side, David began working as an in-house creative director for lifestyle brands, and he often took responsibility for directing the concepts that he crafted. Following the viral success of several of his original films, he caught the attention of top snowboarding brands, and started directing original content for Burton and Forum Snowboards. David helmed Burton’s Thirteen, a feature film that went on to be recognized as the best snowboarding video of 2013 by multiple industry publications.

After committing to directing full time, Tindale worked on commercial campaigns and online content for such top brands as Audi, Volkswagen, JetBlue, YouTube, Target, Red Bull and ESPN.

Tindale joined Backyard in August 2015. Since then, he has helmed projects for clients GMC, Indeed.com and Kokanee Beer.
